This recording wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic Dreaming In Colour Productions so firstly a massive thanks to those guys! Check them here -

Secondly this track deals with some pretty dark themes. The lyrical content was written to draw attention to the difficulties faced by many forces personnel once they return to 'normality'.

If you enjoy the track and wish to download it, you can do so for free or make a donation to the band based on what you feel the track is worth. However the band feels a donation to an armed forces charity would be more fitting, irrespective of our individual opinions on combat/warfare.

Please support the Royal British Legion or Help For Heroes, or one of the many other armed forces charities that work so hard to ensure appropriate mental health care is in place for serving and ex forces personnel.

Thanks to our fans for the continued support.

Well Tommy knew from the age of 5 that he'd be a fighting man,
Over the fields he would go with a stick rifle in his hand,
He wanted to be a man of action and go marching off to war
To grow up strong and fight bad men and make mummy and daddy proud

At 16 years old he's in boot camp, covered in piss soaked sweat and mud,
At 20 years old he's in the sand box covered in his dead mates blood.
Two months later he's come back home to his loving family,
But they don't know nor do they care about the things that he's seen,

He's angry!
And the guns are silent,
He's angry!
Looking for violence,

He's gone back out amongst his brothers, with guys who he understands,
Addicted to the fight, he caught that flight now he's belly down in the sand,
The shots ring out with a crack crack crack, if he's lucky he'll slot someone,
But in his mind it won't be long until he's dead and gone,

Now Tommy's 29 and his rifle is down, he's back on civvy street,
He's got a nice girl, and a stable job it seems he found his feet.
But the horror of war plays silently in the back of his mind,
It takes over him and his world breaks down he knows now is his time,

He sits alone in a one room flat his girl left him tonight
He starts to think while he's piss-soak drunk that the time is right,
He sits and looks down his old shotgun, and with one act of violence,
He pulls the trigger, without a quiver and now Tommy's gun is silent

Formed in November 2014, English Guns' sound is comprised of fast, technical bass lines. The guitars swap from clean ska driven rhythms to fast, high-gain riffs. The drums bring a consistently fast and technical element to the band's sound. All of which support the raspy vocals and fist pumping gang vocals. ... more
